PITTSBURGH (KDKA) ― Police say a campaign volunteer confessed to making up a story that a mugger attacked her and cut the letter B in her face after seeing her McCain bumper sticker.

At a news conference this afternoon, officials said they believe that Ashley Todd's injuries were self-inflicted.

Todd, 20, of Texas, is now facing charges for filing a false report to police.

Ashley Todd is a student at Texas A&M, whose code of honor states: "An Aggie does not lie, cheat, or steal, or tolerate those who do." -- Edit: See quixotic's comment -- she apparently goes to Blinn College.

to the aggies' credit, ashley todd actually attends blinn college. this girl was apparently not even smart enough to be an aggie. ;)

I had not heard that. Everything I heard said she went to TAMU.

Nope. They just say she's from College Station. Our paper says she went to Blinn last year, and her permanent address is a small town near Houston (I forget which one).

So leave us Aggies alone! :P
