It turns out I'm Tony, the station engineer. I'd be more excited if Tony had appeared in the debut episode, the only one of the two I've made it through so far.
Other than a few jaunty Brave Combo tunes, you missed roughly nothing by missing the "Election" episode. If this was the one they wanted to hook us with, my hopes for the next 12 are low. (Episode #2 still waits lurking on my DVR for me to have a moment of weakness.)
