Why I loathe Sprint PCS

In early December I bought a new phone from Verizon, and so in mid-December I called Sprint PCS to cancel my previous account. The representative on Sprint's toll-free number assured me that my account would be cancelled at the end of the current billing period (beginning of January). That invoice appeared on the Sprint website today. I called Sprint today to make sure that my account was in fact closed, and they told me they "had no record" of my calling to cancel. I spoke to a supervisor in the cancellations department, who told me there was nothing he could do.

Menawhile, if you're looking for cell phone service, sign up with Verizon, Cingular, T-Mobile, anybody but Sprint!
I have:
- filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau of Kansas City;
- asked my corporate telecommunications chief for his contact at Sprint to see if anything can be done from that end;
- repeated to myself over and over, "It's only money".
We will see what happens.
