"Gandhi: Freedom Fighter for Indiana" will be the title of the book I wrote some day with my collection of closed-caption bloopers.

I saw a couple more today, presented here as they aired:

*Britney Speer was photographed topless making out with a 21-year-old hotel pool.

*You're watching Forks News Channel.

Well I accidentally turned on SAP on NBC, so I read it and see how badly they translate Leno's monologues. Everything is done so literally that the slang just sounds silly. I do, however, commend ABC's translations. On a related note, Six Flags does horrible translations on signs, while Sea World is flawless

I'm guessing they do the SAP translations on the fly, like they do with the captions, for live or plausibly-live programs like Leno. It's easier to do a more accurate job on recorded programs where that can be taken care of in post-production.

How's Aggieland treating you?
