Make a comment in this entry. I'll go to your profile, pick 3 userpics and interests, and then you explain them in your journal. Include this text or not.

[livejournal.com profile] ladycrim picked for me:

Interests:
blake's 7 - I got into Blake's 7 fandom as it was getting hot in the mid to late 80s. It and Doctor Who were acailable to me via 2 different PBS stations, one that we got on cable and one that I had to put up a UHF antenna, point to Shreveport and pray that it would come in.
ikea - I love the simple style and low cost of IKEA merchandise. I now live 5 miles from the Houston IKEA, and I'm in there every couple of weeks for meatballs and potential bargains.
julius sumner miller - From grade school. He hosted a series of shows on physics that were on instructional TV (the closed circuit school channel). Wild hair and wilder presentation. Always asked "Why is it so?" More famous in Australia than here.

Icons:

Mutts is one of my favorite comic strips, and this panel about improv is a great way of representing two interests at the same time.

Roadtrip! [livejournal.com profile] wonderleafy took this picture on her epic coast-to-coast trip.

The line Klaatu Barada Nikto comes from "The Day the Earth Stood Still", classic science fiction film. Someone hacked the VMS to read "Klaatu Barada Nikto", and I photoshopped the picture into the icon you see.

Electric Velocipede is a small magazine that's published my story "Last Bus" and will be publishing "Sashenka Redux" in their all-women issue next year.

Lyda Morehouse is the author of the Archangel Protocol series, which is one of my favorite SF series. Alas, due to poor sales, she's had to adopt a pen name and start writing in another genre (vampire chick lit), but I keep holding out hope that she'll be able to write SF again some day.

Viable Paradise is a one week SF/F writing workshop on Martha's Vineyard that I attended back in 2002, and then went back to help staff in 2005 and 2006. To say that I love it would be a huge understatement.

The first picture is me at my sister's Miss America Drink & Mock party back in 2003. I'm wearing a tiara and a feathered headdress at the same time. My infant nephew thought this was hysterical.

I made the Cyberman icon after the first Cyberman episode, because when I heard that line, my heart broke. I'm a real sucker for man vs. machine/loss of humanity stories. Alas, they squandered that in part two.

Cat waxing is what you do when you come up with pointless things to do in an attempt not to get any writing done.
