gridlockjoe: (Mutts Improv)

The show is acceptably funny, however, as improv, it falls short. I don't expect the celebrity guests to be full-fledged improvisors, but the supporting cast is breaking so many rules. What's with all the questions? That's one of the first things we learn in improv.

I'll keep watching, but I won't be as entertained as the general public since I'm watching with an improvisor's eye.

I read one review of this today that went on and on about how it appears the producers think the viewing public is incredibly stupid. Too much explaining of the games, too many shots of the laughing studio audience, etc. Very similar complaints type of complaints I had re: the US version of WLiiA, playing beneath the viewers' intelligence.

The second episode appears to have dispensed with most of the explanation. The show is young, though.

Sadly, I missed it. I was home too with no one to share the TV with, so I have no excuse (except for my love of House, How I Met Your Mother [of which both were on at the same time :( ], 2 1/2 Men, and The King of Queens).

Have you seen, or do you have any opinions of, ASSSSCAT: Improv? I've seen one episode, very late one night recently.

I remember having seen it, but don't remember much about it. :(

I saw the tail end of the first ep and all of the second ep. I thought it was okay, there definitely were some funny moments here and there, but overall I agree it fell a bit short. I didn't expect the celebrities to be terrific, but by and large most of them coped well enough.
