Many many of the songs on my MP3 drive have no lyrics. Here are the first 25 that do:

1. "The finest gifts we bring, ba-rum-pum-pum-pum."
2. "My roommate won't throw a thing away, I guess it's probably his."
3. "But at least I'm not quite as bald as Colin Mochrie!"
4. "You will get a semtimental feeling when you hear voices singing 'Let's be jolly'"
5. "I never forget it, confusing as it was"
6. "You can't take a shower in a parakeet cage, but you can be happy if you've a mind to"
7. "I'll kiss him on his chromium-plated head, and take him in to say hi to Mum and frighten Daddy under his bed."
8. "AHAMO!"
9. "There will be no more misery when the world is our rotisserie."
10. "Some officers got drunk at night and cheated on their wives."
11. "I could say that, but I don't have to, 'cause I got pronouns I can say."
12. "I might be drunk but at least I'm not insane."
13. "Didn't go to Yale, got C's and D's at Indiana U."
14. "Close friends get to call him T.C."
15. "In Haliburton, near the Lake of Bays"
16. "See how the leaves go streaming by."
17. "Think of the happiest things, just the same as having wings."
18. "One year I got a dog for Christmas, and I gave it to the boy next door."
19. "Would you stand up and walk out on me?"
20. "BRING ON THE KLAN!" "No, not the fscking Klan!"
21. "I live my life in shadow, never the sun on my face."
22. "I've got a secret, to tell the truth. I've forgotten my line, Johnny."
23. "Our land abounds in nature's gifts, in beauty rich and rare."
24. "Pump, me boys, pump her dry, down to hell and up to the sky."
25. "Strong and peaceful, wise and brave, Fighting the fight for the whole world to save."

The Christmas songs came from Usenet last winter -- someone posted a 15-CD collection of Christmas music from all sorts of genres.

I randomized my entire MP3 drive for this exercise. I didn't include the radio station jingles, though. The lyric "CKLW" would give it away. ;)

Well done. You did, however, miss out on the obligatory CanCon.

as I said, I didn't post if I only remembered the artist, not the song name. And I recognized the canadian content thing (hard not to when you know the name mentioned quite well), but since I didn't remember the title and know it's a band that has some other, probably better *G* fans out there, I figured it was nice to leave it to them ;)
