Yes, this was Sam the Record Man: Death of a Toronto landmark

Sam the Record Man is closing at the end of June.

I can't say I'm terribly surprised, considering all the competition in the area: HMV practically next door and now Best Buy around the corner. But Sam's is a tradition. I could always count on finding something there that I couldn't find anywhere else.

*gasp* :( Why! Why, why, why? I liked Sam's selection way better than HMV. Though I didn't realize there's a Best Buy there now!

Damn, and I didn't get a chance to go there when I was in TO last weekend. :(

The Best Buy is around the corner at Bay & Dundas.
Then of course there's Future Shop *right* next door, though I was never impressed with their selection.
HMV of course.
And we need to remember to hit that used CD/DVD store out by Honest Ed's.
