I can't believe I just realized this:
Over the next few days, my road trip will take me to Springfield, Springfield, Springfield, and back through Springfield.

And, thanks to andiva, I now know my Bacon number: 3.
gridlockjoe was on News 8 with Chip Moody;
Chip Moody was in Born on the Fourth of July (1989) with Beau Starr;
Beau Starr was in Where the Truth Lies (2005) with Kevin Bacon.

I know, and I'm quite sad about that, but I did make it to Springfield on my last road trip through New England in 2003.

Does the original Springfield have throwed rolls? Hmm? Flying food is a definite highlight of any road trip.
