What I did on my summer vacation

7-Eleven rebranded 12 of their stores as Kwik-E-Mart as a promotion for The Simpsons movie. I took these pictures at the Dallas store: http://www.flickr.com/photos/gridlockjoe/sets/72157600825932832/show/
My mom and I went to the Oklahoma City National Memorial and the State Capitol: http://www.flickr.com/photos/gridlockjoe/sets/72157600826632651/show/

I visited two towns where I used to live:
Commerce: http://www.flickr.com/photos/gridlockjoe/sets/72157600825946798/show/
Mount Pleasant: http://www.flickr.com/photos/gridlockjoe/sets/72157600826725121/show/

And I found the lone remaining boundary marker between the US and the Republic of Texas: http://www.flickr.com/photos/gridlockjoe/sets/72157600825981168/show/

Finally, happy birthday to [livejournal.com profile] gasp789!

I had no idea there was a Republic of Texas boundary marker anywhere around. Kinda neat.

As it happens, I was in Mt. Pleasant over the weekend too. Almost detoured to Commerce to see the hole that once was the ETSU Hall of Sciences, but it was late and I was tired.

BTW, your slide shows are set a bit too fast ( for me at least ) if I'm trying to read the signs.

That's a Flickr setting. On the bottom left is a pause button and a slow-medium-fast setting.
