Johnny Carson, 1925-2005

I realize many members of my flist are too young to remember Johnny Carson. Well, kids, let's go back to the day when there were only three TV networks to choose from, and two of them didn't have any late night programming.

"The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson" provided America with its watercooler talking points for 30 years. More importantly, his show was the springboard for the careers of countless stand-up comedians.

Do yourself a favor and rent the 70s-80s Best Of DVD, and realize that no other host has even come CLOSE to being as good as the man was at his peak.

(I don't mean you Joe, I'm sure you already own it...)
