High and dry

I am in Austin (technically Round Rock, but you can't tell where one ends and the other begins) staying with my sister.

Got out of Houston at 8 a.m. and had no traffic issues at all.

The tarp is covering the front window (here's hoping it's still up when I get back). I am a wimp about not having power, though. I hope any power outage we have doesn't last long.

Melissa's parents are riding it out in Houston, last I heard. I was watching Anderson Cooper live from Houston just a little while ago, and it looks like the storm hasn't made it there yet. I'll definitely be checking the news again first thing in the morning. Man, how awful to have to deal with that in the middle of the night. I've only ever ridden out light hurricanes in the middle of the day.

Although we currently live way far away, the hubby and I have been watching the news, thinking of my family in Texas. Luckily they all still live in the D/FW area.

So glad you are safely away from Houston & I'll keep my fingers crossed about that tarp!! Stay safe!
