Okay, I've read a couple of things on your blog and I'm intrigued. You were at RHS the same time I was and you like OTR which of course makes you cool as all get out! Happy blogging!!

Well, hi there, fellow Eagle!

I've added you to my friends list. Feel free to add me to yours!

Thanks, I've added you to my friends as well. I've noticed your affinity for our neighbors to the north. In my case, it's the literal truth. If you go too far on the main street of our town, you have to explain to the nice Canadian Customs agent what exactly your purpose in going to Canada is.

At least on most of the WA/BC border there is an actual physically delineated boundary. I've travelled to some towns on the US/CA border where the border runs through houses, a (former) post office, a public library and opera house, a bar, etc. I'm fascinated with the degrees these international towns live together yet apart.

Living here has been an experience for this Texan. I took me months to get over the fact that all the cash registers in town have two cash drawers, one for US currency & one for CA currency. I also carry a money holder with Canadian currency with me at all times. I never know when I might get the sudden urge to leave the country!

My wallet has two cash compartments, handy for my annual cross-border fling to Toronto. Of course, it may not be that much of a hassle soon, because the dollars are near parity. I just wish we would get our dollar coin into circulation and in more widespread use. That way I can weigh my pocket down with change, as I do in Canada.
